I write, I edit, I read, I curate and produce events, I teach writing workshops for visual artists & creative entrepreneurial types. Samples of my essays and other work is available on this site (under Writing). I started a company and directed it for 7 years before dropping those responsibilities to make more room for creative projects. I understand freelancing, creative projects and small businesses, and I enjoy helping people with their creative work. How?
Editing: An editor will help you find the story you are trying to tell. I can work with you one-on-one to clarify your creative ideas and to help you communicate effectively and strategically.
Writing: I write essays and criticism. I am also working on longer manuscripts. Agents, editors and writers seeking collaborators are invited to contact me.
Consulting/teaching: I love to teach independently. Workshops are an opportunity for groups to split the cost of hiring a professional to help them meet their goals; I have taught in Brooklyn, Washington DC and elsewhere and travel to host skills workshops on writing the personal narratives freelancers, artists and small businesses need to make a strong first impression, like bios and personal/artist statements.
Events: I have produced lit readings, music and art events in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, including gallery openings, booking music venues and creating a pop-up store that featured original artwork from dozens of street artists.
If you are a cool/interesting/ethical/creative person who wants to work with me or hire me for a project, or if you have ideas and you want to brainstorm about a creative/interesting project/literary or art event/magazine/journal/blog/book on which we might collaborate, you are welcome to reach out.
